Ponies and Palki services are available for pilgrims and travellers if you do not want to trek for any reason. The gurdwara holds importance to Sikh pilgrims and it’s one of the very best gurdwaras in the world. The distance is 6 km and may be a steep route. Once you reach the gurdwara, there’s a little pond outside where you’ll take a dip. There is a special sort of flower that grows around the gurdwara, called mhakamal. The Sikhs are extremely warm with their hospitality and you’ll shamelessly hog on to the langar food.

The closest you’ll get to The Valley of Flowers by road is Govind Ghat. This requires around an 11-hour drive to Joshimath from Dehradun, then another one hour to Gobindghat. Valley of flowers will open on 1st June 2023 and will close on 4th October 2023. It remained closed to the public in 2013 after the floods in June 2013 till 4th October 2014 because the trek between Ghangaria and therefore the valley was damaged.
